Editorial Reviews

This high quality screwdriver is specially designed to remove the triwing security screws on your Nintendo Wii. It is far better than the fat, short triwing bit in some bit sets, or the tiny sharp ones that not only very weak, but also tends to damage the screws. With this full length screwdriver, you can easily access all triwing screws on Nintendo Wii, including a couple of very deep ones on the case. It is also compatible with other Nintendo gaming devices such as GameCube console and controller, DS, DS Lite, Gameboy Advance, and Gameboy Advance SP, etc. You can also use it to remove the tri-wing screws on some cell phones and laptops.

The tip of the srewdriver stripped before the screw did. Never thought that was possible, clearly poor quality metal. Probably old mountain dew can or somehting. Also the tip wasn't quiet pointy enough to get down into the screws well enough. Like the one i picked up from another store better.
I bought this tri-wing screw driver after my husband spilt coffee on one of the gamecube controllers and I had no way of cleaning the inside. This screwdriver works great for removing the outer screws on the controller, but a regular small phillips is needed to fully access the L and R buttons from the inside. It doesn't appear that it will last very long, but for short term , infrequent use...it will serve the purpose.
I'm a mechanic, and honstly i've had alot of screw drivers wear out prematurely - especially small tips like this. I've used it to repair the Wii nunchuks that my son broke the buttons on, and it worked perfectly. I see no reason I won't get good life out of it. Hold it in the screw firmly, go slow, then go to the hardware store and replace those stupid triwings with phillips head screws. And like other reviewers, the price was right...
Needed to get into my Nintendo WII to remove a lodged penny. With this I was able to open the device up with no trouble.
i used to release a Battery on a new macbook Pro 13 and works perfect, its a must have for apple service
This product allowed me to safely open my Nintendo DS, re-solder a broken component, and reassemble. Thanks!
Well, not much you can say about a screwdriver. I worked perfectly on the tri-wing screws in the DS lite.
This broke the first time we tried to use it. Didn't even get one rotation on it. I would not recommend this product
I purchased this to help me repair a Nintendo DS lite Upper Screen. It wouldn't fit the screws at all. In fact it stripped out one screw when I was trying to use a slight bit of excessive force. I used an online video "How To" Guide on removing the upper screen and found it to be a very hard task. But if you're thinking on getting this tool for the Nintendo DS Lite screen removal of either one, Don't. I had to go to the local hardware store and buy a kit will tiny (multi sizes) screw driver kit. Because I wasn't sure which size would work. Came home and walla I cracked the bottom screen in the process. It's not a easy task to repair so I suggest don't try it alone if you've never done it. And certainly do not buy this screw driver it will not get the screws out. Once you strip one you cannot remove it at that point. The seller was kind enough to give a refund even though I never asked for one. I left a rating of 3 and they got upset thinking I was blaming them. I never blamed them, But they should have verified first that it would fit a N DSI before saying so in the AD. I hardly think my DS is any different than every other DS sold in America Today. So, after they willingly refunded, I willingly removed what they considered negative feedback. It wasn't negative on the seller, just on the tool itself. Anyway, I retracted. The seller shipped very timely but it was a tool you can purchase at Dollar General, a hardware store, wally world, Family Dollar, get the point? But you can be the judge. Anyway they do not say in the title that it was also for a N DSI it was said in the information on the ad itself.
I bought this screwdriver to fix my DS lite's screen. The screwdriver does not fit any of the DS tri-screws and even stripped my screws. Do not buy if you are trying to work on a DS.
This Screwdriver was very good quality. After It did its job removing very tiny screws from the ZuneHD I did a little test with it, I scratch the tip of the screwdriver against a wood chair about 100 times and the screwdriver did not strip at all! This is the best triwing screwdriver in Amazon [And yes Ive tried many].

TIPS: [How not to strip screwdriver]
- When removing screws remember to push down the screwdriver and turn very very slowly, If its not removing still push down even harder... doing this most likely not strip the screw.
- FYI: Lefty loosy, Righty tighty =D
Didn't strip or anything, then again I only used it to clean out my Wii. If you're getting it for short term use, I think this'll do just fine.
I'm an Electrical Engineer and hobby mechanic. I regularly work with small fasteners and electronics. I used this screwdriver to disassemble my Wii which had a broken DVD drive. The screwdriver worked just as I would expect for any product of this type. Some people have complained about these tri-wing screwdrivers stripping the slots but I had no problems. As with any small fastener (philips, flat, tri-wing, or otherwise), you must position the screwdriver straight over the fastener, apply strong downward force, and rotate slowly. I was able to disassemble and reassemble the Wii with no problems and my Wii is working again now.
This is the perfect three-prong prcision screwdriver!!!
The best part is that the screwdriver is magnetic. Since it is a precision screwdriver, this holds the screws (no matter how small) to the head of the screwdriver so that they are not lost.
This was a great buy!
Great tool for the job. It fit the screws in my Wii perfectly. I had tried other screw driver but with no luck no dice.
this item did what it needed to do it helped me open up my wii and fixed the problem that i was having with it thanks so much
Tri-wing Screwdriver for Nintendo Wii. Couldn't find this screwdriver anywhere else. Not at Radio Shack,Walmart,Frye's,Gamestop or anywhere else. Prompt shipment and great price. Didn't fix my Wii problem but it did make accesiblity to the Wii inner sanctum possible.
Made to do exactly what is says to do. I was able to open the Wii with this screwdriver that is not sold anywhere else, not even in Radio Shack or Home Depot.
I used this tri-wing screwdriver to take apart my wii console. It worked well and it was exactly what I needed to get the job done.
This screwdriver is exactly the one you need to open up the Nintendo Wii. Regular or philips-head screwdrivers won't do. The proprietary tri-wing screws that Nintendo puts on the Wii demand this tool.
I used this screwdriver to open a game boy advance pokemon sapphire game cart for replacing the internal battery. This is exactly the screwdriver you need for that job. It is the right type and right size. Keep in mind that it is a small screwdriver and I don't expect that it would stand up to high torque levels, but then again for small screws in plastic, high torques are not involved. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that this is not a high end screw driver and quite frankly a high end would have just cost more and for a (hopefully) one time job I didn't need anything higher quality.
This screwdriver is very helpful in taking apart electronics. It is magnetized and enables me to take apart things without much force and without messing up the screws. I don't plan on using it daily or even annually so I cannot speak of it's durability but it works great for me.
The screwdriver arrived very quickly and has already been put to use for our Wii and my daughter's friend's Wii for repairs.
Well worth the money. My son slid a SD card into the CDrom drive by accident.
Worked well.
Not durable. But for the one or two times you are going to use it, it is worth the money.
I spent more on gas driving around looking for this.
This is the right tool for the job. I tried several ways to remove these screws without this screwdriver, and it is near impossible. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in need of repairing their Nintendo Wii.
It is a screwdriver. I bought it so I could take apart and clean my old gamecube controllers, and I am fully satisfied with it. It's a bit smaller than I imagined it would be, but that doesn't really matter at all. If you have some business with taking apart Nintendo products, I highly recommend it.
I had to replace the glass on my HTC Aria cell phone. Got the glass from Amazon, watched a YouTube video. Needed a special screwdriver. This worked beyond my expectation!
Works great to remove the screw from a Gameboy Advance Cartridge. I needed to replace the Lithium Ion Battery in my Pokemon Sapphire version. Worked perfectly and I don't see any problem stripping screws or poor construction as other negative reviews have mentioned.
The screwdriver I received looks just like the one in the image. It works perfectly on the triwing screws on my Wii. The price at under three dollars and change is about right too. Very happy with my purchase. I would buy this again.
It is annoying that we needed to purchase special equipment to deconstruct our Wii, but it worked. I appreciate that the tri-wing is inexpensive, We purchased two to have an extra just in case we needed it.
This tool is specialized for the Wii system. I was in a jam. I couldn't get the Wii to read the disks.

This tool made light work out of an impossible problem.
Works fine, well made. Didn't chew up the screws or self destruct under load, and at this price it beats the heck out of the one I hand made last year!
Paid a decent price, was delivered promptly and I got my Wii fixed and working again in no time flat. Very good customer service as well. I suggest if your Wii is broken, buy the Tri-wings before you strip the screws. Thank you Video Closeout!!
made out of cheap metal so its already starting to strip. wil definitely work for opening the wii once and closing it once. beyond that is your luck.
I bought this Tri-Wing to open my Nintendo Wii game console. The screwdriver tip wore out after only removing half the screws. My advice, look for a better tri-wing OR buy 2 or 3 of this cheap one.
Not the best screwdriver but it worked for the purpose; swapping a Wii disc drive. Must be pushed hard into the screw head. Not magnetized but that was easily fixed with a brush across a neodymium magnet I had.
I've used it infrequently on my ds, gamecube and wii and so far the product works great. I share the concern of other reviewers that it will eventually break - it feels like a flimsy plastic handle - but it has yet to do so, maybe it never will. Just don't abuse it and it'll be good to you!
the triwing screwdriver came quickly and worked perfectly for the wii. It didn't strip any of the screwheads or cause any other problems. I had the wii fixed in less than 10 minutes.
I purchased this screwdriver because I could not open and clean a tower fan. It had mostly Philips head screws and one tri-wing screw. So it was impossible to open, because of one screw. But this screwdriver was a dream I got that screw out and now my fan is blowing clean cool air. So this screwdriver works on other electronics with tri- wing screws.
In reality your only going to use this screwdriver once to fix an odd product. I used this to replace the battery that went defective on my 13.3 macbook.
this is the Wii screwdriver for repairing, Changing you broken Fan. The company that sent it was professional, shipping was on time and no defects.
I was bit nervous this might be a cheap screwdriver and strip out on the first use after reading some of the reviews here, but for the price I decided it was worth a shot. I had no problems of any kind - it worked great and I was able to completely disassemble and reassemble my Wii without any issues.

Thanks to this purchase I was able to open the Wii and fix the slot loading disc drive myself for much, much less than what Nintendo wanted to repair my out of warranty Wii.
If you're like me, you sometimes throw controllers against the wall in fits of rage when you press a button while playing online and it doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Now, I am not saying this is right, because it is not, but when this happens buttons break or get jammed in the nun-chuck and renders it difficult/impossible to use, thereby forcing you to go buy a new one at $20+ dollars because no repair show, Radio Shack, Sears, or Walmart has the little Y-shaped screw drivers that Nintendo uses to hold their systems together.
This little wonder allowed me to fix 3 nun-chucks I had laying around, saving me around $75. This little thing paid for itself with the first crew! If you have a Wii, it is worth it to invest in one of these because you will eventually need it for Something.
I ordered a screw driver from GoConsole, and they sent me the wrong one. (New guy messed up the order.) I left some negative feedback on their page. Please disregard it. I got a email this morning saying they re-shipped the item for me. I'm sure once I get it, it'll work fine.
the triwing screwdriver worked just as advertised, however, I was careful not to use excessive pressure because the screwdriver tip feels like it would strip if I pressed to hard.
Not much to say, if you want to see the insides of your Wii this is what you need. worked great...the right tool for the job..and so on...
This is a high quality screwdriver that works will all of the sizes of tri-wing screws used on the Nintendo Wii. Using this inexpensive screwdriver, and information from how-to pages and videos on the web, I was able to fix my broken out-of-warranty Wii. So, it saved me $200.

Don't try to fix a Wii without this, or you will strip the screws and end up causing damage instead of fixing your Wii.
What else can I say? It's a proprietary screwdriver that Nintendo is known for. It works so well, it definitely screws in and unscrews them screws!
The screwdriver got to us much quicker than expected, and it worked perfect, with no difficulties! Thank you!
